Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon's Fan-Favorite Aquathlon Returns for Third Year
SAN FRANCISCO (NOVEMBER 2, 2022) – Registration is now open for Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon's Fan-Favorite, ESCAPE Aquathlon, which returns for its third year on Saturday, June 10.
The 750m swim and 5k run is for endurance beginners and the Tri-interested. The swim/run short course race is designed to provide more athletes with an opportunity to experience the thrill of the ESCAPE and add a new challenge for those looking to test their physical and mental fortitude. From the adrenaline-fueled start off the Hornblower’s San Francisco Spirit Yacht to the dramatic views on the run and an exciting chute finish, ESCAPE Aquathlon participants will get a taste of the legendary Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
“With a condensed swim and removal of the cycling portion of the standard triathlon, the ESCAPE Aquathlon is more accessible to athletes of varying skill levels - whether it’s athletes racing on Sunday looking to get a feel for the course or those looking to ‘dip their toes’ into endurance sport competitions,” said Jennifer Lau, VP of Action Sport Events at IMG, the owner and operator of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
