Road Closures
The Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon will be taking place Saturday, May 31st and Sunday June 1st. Road closures will be in effect throughout race weekend. Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the weekend.




Bike Detour for The Golden Gate Bridge

Road Closures & Times:
Marina Blvd (Scott to Lyon St): 3:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Lincoln Blvd (Presidio): 3:00 AM – 10:30 AM
El Camino del Mar: 3:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Race Timing Estimates:
6:30 AM – First male cyclist on course
7:18 AM – First female cyclist on course
10:15 AM – Last cyclist finishes
10:30 AM – Bike course cleared
Bike Detour Information:
There is no access to the Golden Gate Bridge from Lincoln Blvd.
Cyclists must follow a marked detour route (highlighted in yellow and green) that loops through Mason Street, Crissy Field, Lincoln Blvd, and El Camino del Mar to reconnect with the coast and bridge access points.

El Camino del Mar: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Lincoln Hwy & 34th Ave: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Clement St: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Point Lobos Ave: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Great Hwy: 5:30 AM – 10:30 AM
JFK, MLK, and Transverse Dr: 5:30 AM – 10:30 AM

7:50 AM – First cyclist on course
10:15 AM – Last cyclist finishes
11:00 AM – Bike course cleared
Bike Detour Information:
No bridge access from Lincoln Blvd.
Cyclists must take an extended detour (shown in yellow, green, pink, blue, and purple) routing through the Richmond District and Golden Gate Park to access bridge routes safely.
All race routes are closed to the public, and detour paths are marked for safe travel.
General Notes:
Officers will be stationed to assist local traffic and residents along the route.
No parking is allowed on either side of the race course from midnight until 10 AM.
Streets will reopen as soon as the last cyclist has passed.
