COVID-19 Information

In abundance of caution, due to the concerns surrounding COVID-19 and the Delta Variant, the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon will be integrating the following COVID-19 guidelines on-site during the event.

The safety guidelines were prepared in accordance with industry best practices for open air mass participation sporting events including standards from the World Health Organization, Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and guidance from city and state officials and medical personnel.

MASK GUIDELINES

• The Event is asking all spectators and participants to wear masks IN & AROUND the Event site.
• Per Mask mandates required by SF Department of Health and CA Department of Health, Participants will be required to wear masks, regardless of their vaccination status, in the following areas:
  • Friday:
    • Aquathlon Race Packet Pick Up at Sports Basement Presidio
  • Saturday
    • Aquathlon Race Day Shuttles from Little Marina Green to Pier 3
    • Aquathlon Swim Start - Jump Boat
    • Aquathlon Medical and Massage tent in athlete area
    • On Site Retail/Merchandise Store
  • Sunday
    • Triathlon Race Day Shuttles from Marina Green to Pier 3
    • Triathlon Swim Start - Jump Boat
    • Medical and Massage tent in athlete area
    • On Site Retail/Merchandise Store
• Event Staff & Volunteers will wear masks at all times

ATHLETE SERVICES

• Athlete Food: Upon completion of the race Athletes will receive a pre-packaged selection of food and drinks.
  • Hand sanitizer stations available.
• Massage/Physio:
  • Massage Therapists will be masked at all times
  • Participants utilizing the Massage and Medical area are required to be masked at all times.
• Medal Engraving:
  • Staff Members will be masked at all times
  • Participants utilizing the Medal Engraving are required to be masked at all times.

FINISH CORRAL / CHUTE

• Participants will be required to keep moving in the chute and must continue to open areas.

FITNESS FESTIVAL

• Re-designed Fitness Festival to allow more open space

SANITATION

• Sanitation teams will be ensuring the Fitness Festival, athlete area, finish corral and aid stations are clean and sanitized often.
