Caroline Shannon

Caroline grew up in Paris and Scarsdale, New York.  Although she did not start swimming competitively year-round until she was thirteen, she has been in the pool and on a bike since before she can remember.  In college, she swam at Vassar College, where she specialized as a breaststroker and an IMer, setting school records in the 200 and 400 IM her senior year.  After graduating, Caroline taught French in New York City, and pursued her Masters of Education at Hunter College.  After success as an amateur, she decided to take the leap into the professional field.

Career highlights include qualifying for and "escaped" from Alcatraz three years in a row, most recently placing 2nd in 2016, 3rd amateur at New York City, 1st amateur Rev3 Maine, as well as racing on the French national swimming circuit before transitioning to triathlon.  This year, Caroline decided to step up into the professional ranks of the sport and focus on short-course ITU and non-drafting racing when she is not in the classroom teaching French.
